In any case, the larger problem is that it's incredibly creepy to see MJ throwing herself at a man who very fundamentally isn't who she thinks he is. The sight of a lecherous Octo-Pete guzzling champagne and ogling her breasts at dinner is just... blegh. As I said before, I'm assuming Slott is mindful of the murky waters he's treading in here. We'll simply have to see how this relationship plays out over the next few months. But I feel it would have been better for everyone involved if Slott had created an entirely new love interest for the series.
